I am a writer from the blue ridge mountains, currently pursuing an MFA in fiction at Arizona State University. My work navigates the complex intersection between climate and social justice, the ties between our identities and our homes, and the (in)human anthropocene, as defined by Dr. Kathryn Yusoff. These interests developed from my work in climate modeling labs at the University of South Carolina and Rhode Island, and from my experience as a victim services provider for survivors of sexual violence. I am the 2021 Fiction Meets Science fellow at the Hanse-Wissenschaftskolleg, where I'm researching a novel about whales.
